«Le réseau ferroviaire de chaque pays est quelque chose de passionnant. Une partie de l'histoire de ces pays est reflété par le tracé des lignes. Cela donne aussi une idée des zones d'activités intenses et de celles plus tranquilles. On peut apprendre ainsi beaucoup de choses en connaissant le réseau d'un pays.
La compréhension de ces réseaux nécessite des cartes. Il est parfois difficile pour les ferroviphiles de trouver de bonnes cartes indiquant les lignes à double voie ou électrifiées. C'est pourquoi j'ai décidé de dessiner les miennes pour certains pays.
Depuis, petit à petit et grâce à l'aide d'autres ferroviphiles ayant pris le relais pour certains pays, nous sommes arrivés à couvrir presque toute l'Europe.
Bien sûr, il est impossible à une personne seule de tout connaître parfaitement sur un sujet si vaste (pensez que chaque année des lignes ferment, d'autres ouvrent, d'autres sont électrifiées...)
Heureusement, nous ne sommes pas seuls ici-bas. Beaucoup d'autres passionnés m'ont aidé à améliorer ces cartes (directement ou non). Je veux leur adresser à tous un grand merci.»
